 The Incubator Residency | #400

3 spots open beginning Summer/Fall 2024

The Incubator Residency is a focused residency for up to two years for artists who are at the earliest stages of their careers, have experienced barriers to accessing affordable studio space, and crave supportive community & programming to help them achieve their artistic goals.

Who should apply:

  • Ideal for early career artists working in visual art disciplines (Drawing, Painting, Collage/Mixed Media, Photography, Artist Books, Digital Media, Textiles, Fashion Design, and Sculpture and Installation) with little to no prior studio experience.

  • This space supports artists ready to commit to building a consistent studio practice and participate actively in a peer community/cohort.

  • Limited to artists under the age of 30 at the time of application. Artists can stay in the incubator residency studio for up to two years.

  • PF Studios centers BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) artists and cultural producers. We encourage artists who also have lived experiences of marginalized identities in the art world to apply such as — women, queer, trans, and non-binary artists. We acknowledge identities as intersectional and layered.

  • Artists who are self-taught and artists who are formally educated are equally valued.

*Artists interested in applying are encouraged to review the full program description to ensure it is a fit before applying!*

 PF COMMUNITY STUDIOS | #285 #306 #471

Rolling Application

PF Community Studios are ideal for practicing artists who have experienced economic barriers to access studio space, and are in need of a supportive community to build within. Artists in #285, #306, and #471 are emerging artists, with a few years of experience as practicing artists. PF Community Studio semi-private spaces are available for a subsidized rate of $180-$260, and there are 5-6 artists in each studio.

PF Community Studios applications are received on a rolling basis, and reviewed quarterly by the PF Studios team. Applicants will receive an email confirmation that their materials have been received, and any acceptance is contingent on an interview. Due to limited studio spaces available, not everyone who applies can be accepted. Generally, the wait is 3-6 months to get into the PF Community Studios program after acceptance, and there is an active waitlist.
